Who was Al Capone?

Al Capone was a notorious gangster who ran an organized crime syndicate in Chicago during the 1920s. Capone, who was both charming and charitable as well as powerful and vicious, became an iconic figure of the successful American gangster. Al Capone, who got his start in crime in New York but made a real name for himself in Chicago, took full advantage of the criminal opportunities available during prohibition.
